Payments platform Adyen has launched a card issuing solution, which can be used by its clients to offer physical and virtual cards to customers.
The issued cards support in-store, online and also in-app transactions. Adyen added that the cards can be integrated into mobile wallets.
Adyen Issuing solution enables card issuance based on various client needs, including pay out cards for marketplaces. Also, online travel agencies can get virtual cards for disbursements to their airline and hotel partners.
Adyen co-founder and CEO Pieter van der Does said: “Adyen Issuing gives our clients the ultimate in flexibility. It combines issuing and acquiring in a way that helps them create new and better experiences for their customers.
“It also helps them operationally behind the scenes — from easier reconciliation of funds to reducing the timeline for payouts to better control over their cash flow.”
The company added that its new solution eliminates the need for a third party to provide cards.
Adyen Issuing comes with an API technology that facilitates control over onboarding and card customisation. Clients will also be able to authorise flow and regulate customer experience.
The solution also features Adyen acquiring capabilities to cut card funding timelines and improve cash flow transparency, added the company.
Adyen provides end-to-end payments infrastructure that directly links to Mastercard, Visa and other payment methods.
In June last year, the company provided merchants with access to the Mastercard Account Updater service. Merchants can automatically update Mastercard accounts to boost revenue from card-on-file payments.
