Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection (BHTP) has joined forces with MasterCard to reduce the time taken for travel-insurance claim payments by enabling payment of claims directly to debit cards.
BHTP will make use of MasterCard Send, a personal payments service, to allow payment of claims to travellers within seconds.
MasterCard Send has been designed to help delivery of funds quickly and securely to consumers domestically and internationally, and irrespective of whether consumers are banked or unbanked.
Through MasterCard Send, funds can be sent directly to any personal account through a US debit card wherever a person may travel.
BHTP president Dean Sivley said: "We are excited to be working with MasterCard to help provide our customers with a new, more convenient way to receive claim payments.
