UK-based fintech Crypterium has introduced a global crypto card that allows users to make transactions in cryptocurrencies with any retailer across the world.
The new card operates as a conventional prepaid card loaded with cryptocurrencies. Besides redeeming the amount at the retails stores, the customer can use it at online retail stores as well.
Additionally, the global crypto card allows conversion of crypto into local currencies instantly. It can also be used to withdraw cash from more than two million ATMs across the world.
The company has also worked with various regulators to ensure that the Crypterium Card complies with all stipulated regulations.
Crypterium CEO Steven Parker said: “One of the major barriers to general crypto acceptance has been the fact that it is very difficult to spend cryptocurrency in the real world, and any solutions offered so far have been confined to specific countries or retailers.
“But the beauty of cryptocurrencies is that they are designed to be borderless and global. The Crypterium Card lives up to this borderless, global ideal: anyone can apply for one and start using their cryptocurrencies to pay for things in everyday life. This has the potential to take off as quickly as NFC.”
The newly launched card is linked with the Crypterium Wallet app. This app allows the customer to buy and store multiple crypto currencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, USD Coin and Crypterium’s CRPT token.
The app also supports standard account functions including tracking expenses, changing PINs and blocking/unblocking accounts.
The company also plans to 11 more currencies to the wallet by fourth quarter of this year.
