Crypto enthusiasts can rejoice as Revolut launches a crypto cashback card, Revolut Metal.
Mostly made from steel, the ‘Metal’ card offers features such as cashback and travel insurance. In a bid to entice those who walk the road less travelled, the card gives cheaper access to various airport lounges, cashback in crypto and a higher limit of £600 ($770) for global ATM withdrawals. In addition, Revolut will include a personal concierge feature.

The crypto cashback card does come at a price. For those wanting to upgrade, it will cost £12.99 a month or £120 a year.
As for the cashback, there are several options. Revolut Metal customers will receive up to 1% cashback on all card transactions made outside of Europe. While in Europe it will be 0.1% cashback.
Furthermore, the customer can choose cashback from a choice of 25 currencies and five different cryptocurrencies.
Nik Storonsky, founder and CEO of Revolut said:
“We are absolutely convinced that Revolut Metal is the exclusive card of the future, and an absolute must for travellers worldwide. While the plan already comes with a bunch of new features, there is so much more to come, including commission-free trading and airport lounges.”
“The launch of Revolut Metal is also an important step towards the company generating additional revenue, especially as we prepare to launch a commission-free trading platform and expand the business into North America and Asia later this year.”
Darren Deal, vice president, prepaid cards at Mastercard UK and Ireland commented:
