Dubai-based prepaid processor Global Processing Services (GPS) has collaborated with European programme manager and ABnote Australasia to launch a new prepaid travel card in Australia.
The white-label travel card not only offers customers an alternative to carrying cash, exchanging currency or using traveller’s cheques, but is also cost-effective as travellers can withdraw cash rather than using a debit or credit card.
GPS chief commercial officer Neil Weeks said it has been a very exciting time for GPS to push forward into a new territory and they hope for continued success in Australia as they do see this region as a high growth market and they are optimistic for future success in Australia.
"GPS integrated seamlessly with both ABnote and an Australian issuing bank; the programme was launched in a record time of four months, which included obtaining Visa certification for the territory," Weeks added.
ABnote Australasia corporate and financial services sales director Nathan Park said they are pleased with the partnership they have built with GPS to introduce the prepaid travel cards effortlessly into the Australasian markets and look forward to a strong ongoing relationship moving forward.
