Hong Kong school payments platform is being powered by Mastercard to introduce new one-click digital payments solution
The partnership is between Mastercard and Hong Kong-based education app developer GRWTH.
Under the agreement, GRWTH app will be integrated with different in-app digital payments, account reconciliation, student profiles, home-school communication and school administration.

Mastercard credit, debit or prepaid holders can use the app’s digital payments feature for all school-related expenses, eliminating the need for cash or checks.
The app will also enable parents to track the school payments.
Schools can leverage the integrated platform to save administrative time and costs associated with complex and manual payment procedures.
The app is also said to simplify reconciliation procedures with transaction categorisation, real-time tracking and report generation.
Mastercard managing director for Hong Kong and Macau Helena Chen said: “By bringing together EduTech and FinTech, Mastercard aspires to alleviate the pressure of handling large amounts of cash and checks for schools and parents, not only by providing them with fast, safe and convenient cashless payments experiences but also by helping them devote more time and energy into students’ growth and development.”
GRWTH co-founder and CEO Adam Chan said: “GRWTH links up students, school administrators and parents and provide them with powerful and innovative tools for better home-school communication and organisation.
“By connecting the education, finance and technology sectors, we aspire to push forward the development of digital payments in Hong Kong.”
