US-based payments technology firm InComm has expanded its partnership with American Express (Amex).
The latest agreement makes InComm the exclusive distributor of single load Amex prepaid cards in Canada. It assigns InComm as the exclusive programme manager and processor for all such single load prepaid cards for Amex in the North American nation.
Additionally, InComm will be responsible for the distribution of these cards across in-store retail, online retail, mall and B2B channels. A third-party financial institution will become the issuer for single load prepaid cards.
The deal is scheduled to become effective later this year.
InComm president Stefan Happ said: “We are thrilled to celebrate and expand our partnership with American Express in Canada.
“Over the last year we have experienced significant progress through our collaborative work in the US, and we are excited to extend our exclusive distribution of American Express prepaid products to new and existing distribution partners in Canada as well.”
Last year, the company acquired exclusive distribution rights of Amex’ prepaid reloadable and single load gift card products in the US.
American Express Global Network Services senior vice-president William Stredwick said: “Extending our partnership into Canada means we can further benefit from InComm’s expertise and deep knowledge of the prepaid industry.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with InComm which allows us to expand our single load prepaid cards to even more Canadian customers.”
Last month, InComm announced the integration of its MyVanilla prepaid Mastercard with Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay mobile wallets app.
