MasterCard has partnered with Swedish lenders Nordea, SEB and Swedbank to launch its global digital wallet MasterPass in the country.
MasterPass secures online shopping safe by enabling consumers to store all their cards and shipping addresses digitally.
The digital wallet is connected to the Swedish Mobile BankID, an electronic identification service.
MasterCard said that ICA Banken and Resurs Bank will also issue MasterPass in Sweden in the near future.
Mats Taraldsson, head of business development MasterCard Nordics and Baltics, said: "With the launch of MasterPass in Sweden, we take an important step within digital card payments with a safe, simple and smart way of paying online with just a few clicks.
"We are very delighted that so many prestigious Swedish banks are on board to issue the wallet."
