Microsoft has signed an agreement to integrate its payment service Microsoft Pay with Masterpass. The digital wallet offered by Mastercard will enable quick and secure checkouts.
Masterpass is designed for secure storage of payment and shipping details. The solution works with Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards.
Fast payments during checkout will now be available to customers using Microsoft Pay. The merchants must accept the Mastercard’s digital wallet.
Mastercard senior vice-president of digital solutions, Raj Dhamodharan said: “Integrating technologies like Microsoft Pay with Masterpass will help the industry move to standards-based payments.
“Microsoft is a great partner and we will continue to collaborate with Microsoft to make shopping a better experience on all devices.”
Users of the Microsoft Edge browser on Windows 10 devices will be to make secure online purchases at e-commerce businesses. The businesses must accept Masterpass.
Within the Microsoft ecosystem, Microsoft Pay enables consumers to make various other transactions such as bills payment in Outlook and purchase of goods or services in apps or bots.
Microsoft partner group programme manager Will White said: “We are always seeking to enhance our users shopping experience in a secure and simple manner and this latest release does that by leveraging the growing Masterpass network.
