The prepaid Visa RushCard, co-founded by music mogul Russell Simmons, will debut two 60-second television commercials reflecting new branding this week.
Simmons, co-founder of record label Def Jam and founder of fashion label Phat Farm, will feature in the commercials as a cab driver and a doorman.
The new commercials, to be aired throughout the United States on cable networks for the rest of the year, follow the card’s 10 year anniversary.
Rob Rosenblatt, RushCard CEO, said: "The last 10 years have seen the prepaid industry evolve from a niche alternative to a mainstream financial option and we’re proud to have been a leader in this evolution."
Rosenblatt added: "We look forward to maintaining our leadership in the industry and supporting our customers for decades to come."
Cards with the new design will become available in the autumn.
The English-language version of the RushCard site has already implemented the new branding strategy while the Spanish-language version is still awaiting an update.
The Prepaid Visa RushCard is issued by The Bancorp Bank under license from Visa. It can be used in the US anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.
