Payments app Revolut is to open a customer operation centre in Porto, Portugal, which will create 400 new jobs.
The company, which has over 250,000 customers in Portugal, has already hired 70 customer support agents in Porto. It plans to increase this to 400 with roles in customer support, complaints, investigations, and also compliance.
In addition, construction work for the new location is underway. The work will be completed by the end of this year according to Revolut.
Revolut is opening 1,000 accounts each day in Portugal and has grown by over 150% this year.

In addition, Revolut has appointed Ricardo Macieira, the former country manager for Airbnb in Portugal, as growth manager for Revolut.
Macieira will be responsible for developing Revolut’s business in the country. He is the co-founder and co-CEO of Alok Design Brands. Since 2015, he has worked as a mentor of entrepreneurship at Startup Lisboa, and has a degree in Design from IADE.
Furthermore, Rebeca Venâncio will lead the Revolut communication and public relations team in Portugal, moving from Microsoft. Miguel Costa was welcomed into the fold as community manager and wants to raise the level of user engagement.
