Scottrade Bank, a division of Scottrade Financial Services, has added Android Pay and Samsung Pay support for its personal banking customers.
With Android Pay and Samsung Pay, the US-based lender now provides multiple mobile payment solutions. Earlier this year, the bank started offering Apple Pay and mobile cheque deposit.
Using contactless payment technology, Android Pay sends payment to merchants, either in store or for in mobile apps. Google-owned Android Pay uses a virtual account number instead of actual debit card number to protect sensitive information.
Android Pay is compatible with the Android operating system ‘Kit Kat’ or latest version of Android and works with most Nexus, Samsung, LG, HTC and Motorola phones.
Samsung Pay enables owners of select Galaxy devices to use their phones to make payments virtually at anyplace where clients can swipe their card. Samsung Pay supports both contactless payment systems and magnetic secure transmission (MST) technology.
Samsung Pay is compatible with the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 active, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 active, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5.
Scottrade Bank president Chris McComish said: “The use of mobile payments is growing, and Scottrade Bank is pleased to offer our clients banking services that make their lives easier.
“Layering Android Pay and Samsung Pay into our mobile solutions allow our clients additional, simple ways to interact with millions of retailers.”
