British fashion retailer Topshop, in partnership with Barclaycard, has rolled out its second range of fashion accessories that enable shoppers make contactless payments.
The Topshop x bPay collection comprises six pieces of accessories, including NFC-enabled bracelets, phone cases and keychains.
The new assortment of accessories features Barclaycard’s bPay contactless payment chip linked to a secure digital wallet, which allows shoppers to tap and make payments at contactless terminals.
Users can top up their digital wallet on-the-go using a mobile app, online through the bPay web portal, or they can establish an automatic top-up which adds funds when their balance comes down a pre-set level.
Barclaycard commercial director of digital consumer payments Tami Hargreaves said: "The collaboration shows how the worlds of fashion and technology can combine to create a stylish and easy new way for people to pay using contactless, for everyday things – be it a morning coffee, a new lipstick or a bus trip across town."
This would be the second Topshop x bPay collection after the first launch in November last year. The accessories can be purchased from select Topshop stores, online and through the bPay e-store.
Released in 2014, bPay is available to anyone with a UK-registered Visa or MasterCard, debit or credit card, not just Barclaycard and Barclays customers.
