Samsung Electronics’ mobile payment platform Samsung Pay has added support for Wells Fargo debit and credit cards.
The latest move expands Samsung Pay support to credit and debit cards from 70 banks and credit unions, covering over 70% of the credit and debit card market in the US, the technology giant said.
Cardholders can make payments via Samsung Pay by swiping up and scanning their fingerprint.
The payment platform is accepted in majority of existing as well as new terminals, and offers triple-layered security that includes fingerprint identification, tokenisation and Samsung KNOX.
Wells Fargo head of virtual channels Jim Smith said: "We are pleased today to announce that Samsung Pay is available for Wells Fargo customers. Innovations like Samsung Pay further our commitment to giving our customers the ability to make payments anytime and anywhere, including from a mobile wallet."
