US-based payments company ACI Worldwide has signed a non-exclusive global agreement with electronic payment terminal solutions provider PAX to introduce new payment terminal options for merchants.
Under the collaboration, PAX payment terminals with ACI’s UP Merchant Payments solution will receive nexo certification.
The nexo certification standardises the exchange of payment acceptance data between payment stakeholders to enable swift and interoperable payment procedure.
PAX US CEO Andy Chau said: “Partnering with a global payments leader like ACI builds on our strong global presence for delivering innovative payment solutions required by today’s leading merchants.
“With ACI, we will provide merchants the flexibility to manage operational efficiencies and cost savings by providing more payment options for their customers.”
ACI’s UP Merchant Payments solution is said to offer merchants flexibility to fulfil strategic channel requirements as well as scalability to achieve sales growth.
PAX terminal software’s integration with ACI’s UP Merchant Payments solution will utilise the open, universal ISO20022 nexo standard to enable addition of new functionalities and simplify integration with other card processing systems.
ACI Worldwide merchant solutions vice-president Lynn Holland said: “Merchants want choice when it comes to deploying payment technologies like contactless and mobile point-of-sale.
“Our collaborative partnership with PAX has already generated considerable interest from merchants, as it empowers them to offer more payment options to their customers worldwide. Moreover, the nexo standards benefit merchants struggling to support numerous interface protocols and certifications.”
