Payment firm Ingenico Group has agreed to facilitate digital payments made on furnishings retailer IKEA’s e-commerce platform in India.
Multi-mode online and mobile payments will be enabled via a payment gateway solution customised by Ingenico ePayments India to meet IKEA India requirements.
The company has also developed interactive voice recognition (IVR) to further support the retailer’s operations.
IKEA India Multichannel head Henrik Tuner said: “We are excited to present our vast range of products to the Indian consumers through our e-commerce platform. Through this platform we will continue to provide well designed and functional home furnishing solutions to the consumers, which is yet another step to our long term commitment to the Indian market.
“We are glad to partner with Ingenico ePayments as this will ensure our consumers can experience easy and secure payments.”
The retailer will initially introduce its online shopping services in Mumbai and then Hyderabad. It will also open physical stores and add other touchpoints to improve customer reach.
Ingenico ePayments India CEO Kumar Karpe said: “We are honoured to be the chosen partner for payment solutions for IKEA’s online platform. Through this association we will be able to provide customers with a seamless shopping experience.”
In May this year, the payments firm also partnered with Radial, a bpost group company and commerce technologies provider, to support online and mobile payments.
