Lufthansa Systems, an IT services provider for the aviation industry, has selected open payment platform optile to support facilitate onboard purchases with multiple payment methods.
Lufthansa Systems head of passenger experience products and solutions said: “Partnering with optile allows to provide an open and flexible payment solution to our airline customers, enabling payment with a single click and supporting multiple payment methods (e.g. AliPay, PayPal,etc.).”
Lufthansa will trial optile’s open payments solution within its wireless in-flight entertainment platform called BoardConnect.
The solution will require customers to enter their payment data once when booking tickets on the airline’s app and make further payments with the payment method previously selected by them.
