IBS Software, a SaaS solutions provider to the travel industry, has entered into a partnership with digital payment system PayCargo.
The collaboration seeks to provide air freight carriers and cargo ground handlers with digitalised payment options. It will be enabled by integrating the PayCargo’s digital payments network with IBS Software’s iCargo air cargo management platform.
The API-based integration is expected to simplify payment procedures as well as streamline operations for carriers and cargo handling companies.
PayCargo Americas president and CEO Lionel van der Walt said: “The integration with IBS Software continues our philosophy of collaborating with industry partners to facilitate the expeditious release of shipments.
“Integration with our airline and ground handler vendors’ operational system partners makes sense as it enables their staff to expedite the release of cargo without the need for accessing multiple systems and automates data flows to save time and avoid costly human errors.”
The collaboration comes at a time when contactless payments are encouraged across sectors following Covid-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, the digitalisation of payments will help in reducing the use of cash, cheques and vouchers as payment methods.
van der Walt added: “Covid-19 is expediting digital transformation across the air cargo industry and PayCargo is working with partners such as IBS Software to lead the delivery of meaningful solutions to help the industry weather the storm.
“Our online payment platform is proving to be valuable to stakeholders as it is helping drive transparency, cost efficiency and boosting operational performance.”
