UnionPay International in collaboration with Bank of China (Hong Kong) has debuted UnionPay mobile QuickPass products in Hong Kong.
The new move follows the issuance of UnionPay HCE mobile QuickPass products in Macau and South Korea.
Now, cardholders in Hong Kong can link their mobile phones with UnionPay dual-currency credit cards issued by Bank of China and make daily transactions easily using their mobile phones.
UnionPay said that its mobile QuickPass supports offline payments with smartphone, wearable devices and UnionPay chip cards, as well as online mobile payments.
Mobile QuickPass is currently accepted at approximately 20,000 POS terminals in Hong Kong, covering merchants like SOGO, 7-11, Mannings and Tsui Wah Restaurant.
Furthermore, cardholders can use the new mobile payment system at more than 400,000 POS terminals in markets outside mainland China.
The markets include: Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, Australia and the UAE.
