Alphabet UK has retained the contract to
manage the fleet for Barloworld Handling Limited following a 10-way
The BMW-owned fleet operator secured a third
successive contract to manage the 650-strong car and van fleet for
the forklift truck distributor which will take the partnership
through to its tenth year in 2014.
Alphabet will continue to supply Barloworld
Handling with vehicles on full-maintenance contract hire.
Alan Thackray, vehicle contract and facility
manager at Barloworld, said the company is in the process of
setting their fleet strategy for the coming years and felt
Alphabet, with new head of strategic consulting Nigel Trotman,
offered more than others in that area by identifying new

Alphabet will finalise a deal this year to
acquire ING Car Lease from the Netherlands-based bank which will
take its European fleet to 540,000 and the combined fleet in the UK
to around 95,000 making the company the third largest by fleet size
in the UK.
