UK lessor Tower Leasing has appointed Scott Phelps as head of IT vendor, a new role created by the lessor to service the IT marketplace.
Phelps worked at Tetra Business Systems between 1990 to 1999 where he started in sales as an enterprise software vendor administrator. Thereafter he moved into telesales, then managing the team and into a software sales role as business development manager for the channel side of the business. Sage bought Tetra in 1999, and he left in 2002 to join Syscap where he worked as an alliance partner manager, responsible for top tier vendors and their channel partners.
Tower said it had created the role to finance the IT marketplace with a particular focus on software, and Phelps will be tasked with shaping this soft asset department.
Phelps said: “Tower are now able to work with Vendors who sell their software via the Cloud or on Subscription, using a suite of products dedicated to this market. With Tower being both an own-book funder as well as a broker, this flexibility is further enhanced and this was key to me joining.”
Ben King, head of sales said: “We are delighted with the appointment of Scott Phelps to the Tower Leasing team. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and will be pivotal in increasing our presence within the IT sector. He represents a missing piece of the puzzle for Tower and we look forward to Towers IT offering and presence growing within the marketplace”.
