Cornwall-based WH Bond is to exit the machinery sales and plant hire markets citing market conditions and concerns over Brexit, leading to the sale of 1,200 pieces of equipment.
Euro Auctions has been appointment as valuer and auctioneers to manage the disposal of the machinery. The inventory of stock will go under the hammer on October 3 and October 4, with a total estimated value of £15m.
David Betts, Euro Auctions territory manager for the UK and manager of the WH Bond sale, said: “With over 1,200 lots of quality equipment up for sale, this is one of the most eagerly awaited off-site sales of 2019. With predominantly 2019 to 2016 machines in the catalogue, that are in ‘like new’ condition, this sale will draw much attention from the buyers. The care and attention bestowed on each item for sale by WH Bond is evident and will ensure the line-up on sale day will be more than impressive.”
Included in the auction will be over 130 lots of excavators, 80 lots of dumpers, 260 pieces of telehandlers, and over 200 lots of tractors and agri equipment. Other stock includes rollers, backhoes, dump trucks, dozers, breakers, bowsers, cabins, trailers, mixers, buckets, general attachments, and small tools.
Viewings will be on September 30, October 1 and October 2. The sale site will be Bake Farm, Trerulefoot, Saltash, Cornwall, PL12 5BW. All items will be unreserved.
Although its agricultural machinery sales division is to close with immediate effect, the WH Bond business also contains departments which include timber sales, civil engineering, and earthmoving.
The administration disposal sale of all assets of Hawk Plant Hire on March 14 and 15 March 2019 has raised just under £29m, according to the auctioneers.
Euro Auctions said over 2,000 pieces of plant and machinery from Hawk Plant Hire, which went into administration earlier in 2019, made a final hammer total of £28,967,840.
Established in 1998, Euro Auctions is an auctioneer of used industrial plant, construction machinery and agricultural equipment, conducting over 60 major unreserved auctions every year.
