Shawbrook Bank has appointed Kevin Flowerday as its head of technology finance.
A spokesman for Shawbrook said that Flowerday had been brought in to drive the technology focus of the bank’s asset finance department.
Flowerday was the head of professional lending and technology finance at United Trust Bank (UTB) for over two years. At UTB, he spearheaded the bank’s development of its finance technology products.
UTB’s technology finance department, created in May 2015, runs alongside UTB’s established offerings of secured asset finance, property development and bridging finance and professional lending.
Flowerday began his career at HSBC in retail banking in 1994, before moving through sales for an educational supplies business, entering asset finance at Syscap as sales manager in 2001.
He worked as Syscap’s director of public sector finance and as Syscap’s head of direct sales before moving to UTB in 2014.
Simon Featherstone, managing director of Business Finance, said "We are delighted that Kevin is joining us to head up our Technology sector coverage within Asset Finance. Kevin brings many years of high quality experience and we are excited about the opportunities for Shawbrook to expand in this area."
Flowerday added: "I am delighted to be joining Shawbrook at such an exciting time and bringing their well-known qualities to the technology sector. Intermediaries, both existing and new, will get to benefit from Shawbrooks additional specialist technology funding across all technology assets.
"It’s a great opportunity for me, Shawbrook and our partners as we will look to stamp our mark in this specialist sector."
