Berkshire-based Tower Leasing has appointed James Worraker to its board as finance director.
Worraker joins from Hitachi Capital UK where he was most recently group financial controller and previously head of finance for Hitachi’s Capital UK’s vehicle leasing business.
Worraker previously held a number of senior finance roles at LeasePlan and the RAC.
Tower said that Worraker would be responsible for finance, IT, compliance, HR and supporting the strategic growth of the company.
James Worraker said, “I am delighted to join Kerry and the team at Tower Leasing and be supporting the on-going growth of the business.”
Tower Leasing chief executive officer Kerry Howells said, “The financial director, often the unsung hero of the boardroom, is required more than ever to be more forward-thinking and a commercial businessman than their counterpart of years gone by. James, thankfully, does much to turn the traditional stereotype of a financial director on its head. I don’t believe that just understanding the numbers is any longer enough to make a superb financial director. This was an extremely important and considered appointment for Tower to find an outstanding financial director.
“We believe solid financial training and technical ability provides a platform to understanding strategic planning for growth and is a key priority. James represents a solid individual who possess all of the skills to assist the board in developing the plans and desires for the business to continue to thrive and grow over the coming years. Relationships stand at the forefront of our business ethos and James displayed all of the qualities and characteristics we seek to in-still in our people. We are delighted to welcome James to the board.”
