British Friendly, a UK-based income protection provider, has added three new initiatives to its Mutual Benefits programme.
The new elements available to members are free health MOTs, power of attorney at no extra cost and discounted travel insurance.
The Mutual Benefits programme, which was launched last year, provides numerous benefits to improve members’ lifestyles and complement their income protection cover.
British Friendly said that the Mutual Benefits programme is available to both new as well as existing members.
Health MOTs have been launched after a successful trial carried out by Square Health. The Health MOTs can help in identifying whether the member is at higher risk for certain health conditions, including heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, stroke, dementia and certain cancers.
Additionally, the mutual life insurer is extending the services it offers via Epoq’s Legal for Life portal, to include online powers of attorney. This will allow members to prepare their own power of attorney online, without spending a penny.
Moreover, members of British Friendly can access either multi or single trip travel insurance through Staysure that specialises in delivering cover for people with pre-existing medical conditions. Members can also avail a 15% discount on multi or single trip travel insurance.
British Friendly product and marketing director Nick Telfer said: “A key reason for offering Mutual Benefits is to provide members with different ways to realise the value of their membership whether they’re claiming or not.
“Since its launch, Mutual Benefits has been extremely well received by both members and advisers. Our members understand the value of their purchase and these new benefits provide them with increased opportunities to maximise this value.
“Our adviser partners see Mutual Benefits as a valuable addition to our product offering which will encourage greater opportunities for engagement and loyalty.”
