Charles Taylor InsureTech, which is Charles Taylor’s independent insurance technology business, has bolstered its senior team with the appointment of Dave Smith to the newly created role of business development director and Adam Harrison to the role of sales manager.
The provider said the appointments will help the business realise recent strategic investments including the expansion of its global delivery network and the acquisition of a stake in Fadata, a specialist provider of software solutions to the insurance industry.
Charles Taylor is a provider of global professional services and operates through three businesses – management, adjusting and insurance Support Services.
Smith joins from Sapiens, where he was head of insurance practice and responsible for developing and implementing technology solutions for insurance clients, including Scottish Widows, Royal London, Wesleyan Assurance and Met Life (Australia).
He has over thirty years’ experience in the insurance and technology sector, predominantly specialising in the life and pensions arena.
He began his career at National Provident Institution (NPI) in 1985 where he worked in all aspects of product development and policy administration before moving into an IT role. He then went on to work for AMP and FIS Software before joining Sapiens in 2011.
Harrison joins from Ebix, where he headed up business development, working on major technology implementations for insurance clients including QBE, Beazley, Lockton and AJG.
Prior to this, he was at the Alphabet Group. Harrison has been working in the insurance technology sector for nearly a decade in business development roles, predominantly in the London market.
Both roles will be based in London and will report in to sales director, Tony Russell.
Jason Sahota, CEO of Charles Taylor InsureTech said:, “We’ve invested heavily in our capabilities in the personal lines space and Dave’s deep life and pensions experience will be invaluable in bringing our proposition to market. We also want to build upon our position of strength in the London market and Adam’s experience and network will be vital to making this happen.”
