German insurance company Talanx has forged a strategic partnership with WorkFusion, a developer of intelligent automation software, to speed up to digital processes in claims processing.
Under the arrangement, WorkFusion’s software is being for automated checking and dark processing of incoming documents.
The software is being tested in the claims division in the business with German private and commercial customers at HDI, a Talanx subsidiary.
Talanx noted that one of the aims of the collaboration is to use the ‘dark’ – which means automated – processing for even more glass invoices in motor insurance without any manual intervention.
“Up to now, when documents have been sent in by small businesses and private customers, automated reading of such documents has been a challenge. This problem has now been solved through cooperation with WorkFusion,” Talanx said in a press statement.
HDI Versicherung chairman of the Management Board Christoph Wetzel said: “We are already using robots in the insurance business. Thanks to the combination of Robotic Process Automation – RPA for short – and Artificial Intelligence, we are now able to intelligently automate the entire process end-to-end.”
HDI is expected to leverage the new platform to partially automate a large section of the processes in claims.
Furthermore, the solution may also be used at the international subsidiary companies of the Talanx Group.
