Online vehicle search platform Carsnip has appointed Dan Goodfellow as its head of digital.
In his new role, Goodfellow will be responsible for supporting dealers in getting the most from their Carsnip account, which includes traffic acquisition and channel optimisation. He will customise the environment for dealers by using enhanced analytics and end-to-end web tracking.
Goodfellow joins the company from Inchcape, where he served as digital marketing lead.
Phil White, commercial director for Carsnip said: “We are really excited Dan has joined Carsnip. His vast digital experience, and especially his time as digital lead for Inchcape, will prove invaluable as Carsnip enters its next phase of growth.”
Goodfellow added: “As a customer of Carsnip at Inchcape, and as someone who has watched them grow, I am delighted to now be part of the story. Carsnip today drives great results for dealers but there is such a huge opportunity to take this even further and I’m very excited to join a young company with such great potential and ambitions.
“Carsnip continues to innovate the online automotive space to provide dealers with a transparent and highly effective way to grow their digital channels.”
In 2017, Carsnip signed an exclusive partnership deal with Oodle Finance. Carsnip added an optional ‘finance now’ button to their search results, which would link prospective car buyers to Oodle Finance. Dealers will be paid commission on all cars financed by Oodle.
At the time, Jonathan Clayton, Oodle’s chief executive, said the deal could shorten the process of financing used cars. “Both Oodle and Carsnip believe technology can bring car buyers and car dealers closer together for a more seamless and effective experience.
“This exciting partnership was the logical next step in our collective desire to optimise this process and make life easier for car dealers and borrowers.”
