Santander Consumer Finance (SCF) has appointed Eric Seymour as national sales manager as it expands its focus on the motorcycle, leisure and specialist finance markets.
Santander said his appointment reflected in the rapidly-expanding market for finance solutions where it already works with motorcycle manufacturers KTM and Husqvarna, as well as Bombardier Recreational Products in the off-road segment.
SCF’s team has traditionally focussed mostly on the motorcycle market, but is also increasingly lending in the wider leisure market.
Seymour has worked at SCF for 10 years. He first joined the lender from the Phoenix Car Company. . His career with SCF started in national accounts management and evolved to include additional core and local accounts. Most recently, he worked in the finance provider’s manufacturer team in Scotland, primarily as lead on the retail and wholesale areas of Volvo’s network in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Cumbria.

Seymour added: “We are already seeing strong interest across the motorcycle market and I look forward to supporting the team.”
SCF has already signed a partnership with Caterham in 2018, which see’s SCF provide financing for buyers of new and used Caterhams.
According to the National Motorcycle Dealers Association (NMDA), total motorcycle sales for 2017 were 105,467. This was just over 23,000 less than registered in 2016. Looking forward to 2018, the NMDA said it expected another tough year for the motorcycle market, with a predicted growth of around 3%.
