Volvo Car UK has appointed Selwyn Cooper head of financial services, responsible for management and delivery of its finance and insurance products.
Cooper has spent over 20 years at Volvo, and his most recent role was head of business sales. He first joined Volvo as a national sales manager at Volvo Car Finance.
Cooper said: “I am thrilled to be heading up the financial services division, especially as a time of such positivity for Volvo in the UK.
“Our ambitious growth targets require a fully integrated approach to products and services, which will enable us to develop the premium financial, insurance and associated solutions to suit our increasingly sophisticated customer base.”
Volvo Car said it intends to develop its financial services offering to match changing customer requirements, and counted associated products as part of the changes.
David Baddeley, operations director, Volvo Car UK, said: “Selwyn has the perfect balance of finance house experience and a deep understanding of both our retail and business sales operations required for this role.”
The appointment of Cooper follows Volvo Car UK’s extensive jobs shake-up in April, which saw six appointments, consisting of both reshuffles and fresh hires.
Cooper’s appointment is effective immediately, and Volvo Car UK said it was recruiting for his replacement as head of business sales.
