Industry group the SMMT has
created the position of business development manager for electric
vehicles, to be filled by Catherine Hutt.
She joins from Modec, a
manufacturer of electric CVs, and will manage the SMMT’s
newly-created Electric Vehicle Group, “to encourage high-level
industry discussion and consensus views aimed at influencing
political and public attitudes towards the new technology”, the
Gary MacDonald has
joined Leasedrive Velo as an account manager in the lessor’s rental
He previously worked in account
management at Guardian Media Group, and, prior to that, was a
professional footballer, playing for Portsmouth and Peterborough
United, among others.
Craig Moran has taken up the position of sales
manager, hire desk, at lessor Zenith Provecta, a newly-created
position for the lessor.
Moran is a fleet industry veteran,
having spent over 26 years in the industry; he started his career
at Autolease, and has worked for Dial Contracts, AT&T Capital
(Automotive Services), and Nexus Vehicle Management.
He joins Zenith Provecta from
epyx, where he was sales manager for the 1link hire network.
The general manager of Honda’s UK
car division, Bernard
Bradley, is to leave the manufacturer, to pursue
new business opportunities in the Middle East.
In the interim his position will
be filled by marketing director Tom
Gardner, until a permanent replacement is announced.
“I have enjoyed the challenge of
strengthening Honda’s relationship with its dealer network and the
opportunity to work with a number of very talented people inside
the company,” Bradley said.
Dany Bahar has joined Group Lotus as CEO, the
luxury car manufacturer announced, replacing Michael Kimberley, who
Bahar, a Swiss national, was
previously senior vice-president, commercial and brand at Ferrari,
and prior to that worked at Red Bull, where he was head of
corporate projects business.
Renault UK’s fleet and commercial
vehicles sales director Keith Hawes has stepped
down from the post he has held for the past decade.
Prior to joining Renault, Hawes
worked for Ford for 12 years. Renault said he wishes to “pursue
other interests”, and Renault UK managing director Roland Bouchara thanked
Hawes for his “dedication, commitment and integrity” and his
“invaluable” contribution to the manufacturer.
He will be replaced by
Payne, who joins from General Motors, where he was
most recently director of used vehicle sales, marketing and
operations for GM UK and Ireland.
COBRA AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES
Automotive security firm Cobra
Automotive Technologies has appointed Miles Garner as its UK
general sales manager. Garner spent nine years at Sony, then moved
to RDM Automotive Group in 2006 as sales and marketing director.
When Autotxt, RDM’s stolen vehicle recovery programme, was bought
by PA Consulting in 2007, Garner stayed on in the sales and
marketing director’s role.
David Cardle has added
the role of visiting fellow at the University of Buckingham, where
he will work alongside Motor Finance columnist
Cooke, to his day job as managing director of
Frazer-Nash Associates, a vehicle logistics consultancy.
