GE veteran and former GE Capital executive William
Cary has been promoted to the position of president and
chief executive officer of GE Money. Cary joined GE in 1986 as a
member of the Financial Management Program and served in a number
of financial positions. Since February 2006 has served as president
and CEO of GE Money Europe, Middle East and Africa, the largest
group within GE Money.
A major restructuring at auctioneers Manheim has led to the
creation of three divisions in the UK: Auctions & Remarketing,
covering the physical auctions and online wholesale activities
provided through Manheim Auctions and vrs, headed up by
Mike Pilkington; Defleet Services, encompassing
smart repairs, vehicle inspection services and asset management
business, where David Mercer will take the reins; and Retail
Services, comprising Portfolio, e-GoodManners and RTC, with John
Simpson as its business leader.
Wallis has been appointed the new head of the RMIF’s
Society of Motor Auctions (SMA), and will take on the position
while continuing in her current role as head of business
development for the RMIF’s National Franchised Dealers Association.
She will promote to dealers the benefits of using auctions to
dispose of vehicles and to source new vehicle for stock, the
Stephen Coles has become the head of MOT operations at the
federation, while Sylvia Robson has been made head of membership
recruitment. Both were internally promoted.
David McNeill is the new director of corporate
sales at Europcar, where he will be responsible for the ongoing
development of products and services for UK businesses, Europcar
said. Previously McNeill was head of the international corporate
sales team at National Car Rental.
EurotaxGlass’s has promoted Jeff
Paterson to the new position of chief car editor with
the prime responsibility for increasing model coverage in Glass’s
Guide. At the same time Jason King has been appointed head of
market intelligence and is tasked with ensuring the company
broadens its research and intelligence products.
Paul Bricknell has been appointed general
manager of Vertu Motors’ Lincoln Honda dealership. Previously he
worked for Quicks, Astle BMW and Dixons.
Lee Upton has joined the company as general manager to head up
its new used car outlet at Doncaster, branded Bristol Street Motor
Fleet management company CLM has launched a new daily rental
division, Corporate Vehicle Rentals. The division is to target
corporate customers and provide a nationwide service for car and
van rental, long-term hire and flexi-lease arrangements.
It will be headed up by Mukesh Hallan as
regional sales manager. Hallan joins from Europcar where he was
regional sales manager for the Midlands region.
Kortland has joined GRS, part of the Greenhous Group,
as business development director. Formerly the UK chief operating
officer and European project director of GMAC Financial Services,
Kortland’s remit is to drive growth in GRS’s used car and van
Alex Lugt, head of the motor product division
of Hollard Risk Partners will join Frontline Solutions as part of
the senior management team following a significant investment in
the software house by Capricorn Ventures International.
Matthew Elsom has joined Callcredit as head of
credit risk. He joins from US credit risk company Provenir. He will
report directly to Mike
Davies, sales director. At the same time
Michael Brown joins from Nestle UK as group
Davies has been appointed data assets director, a new
position at Callcredit, and Gayle Dunkley joins as compliance
manager reporting directly to him.
Nick Hollingworth has joined the board of motor
retailer Caffyns as a non-executive director.
Raj Aher has joined icenet as a software
developer. He joins from the PA Group, a sports news provider, and
before that he was with 7 Global, a managed services provider.
