Cancellations without a substitute delegate received a month prior to the event will be subject to a 20% cancellation charge. Delegates canceling after this date without a substitute delegate will be required to pay the full fee and no refund will be made. Cancellations must be received in writing or via email and will not be accepted over the phone.

Tobias Wagner, Head of Zurich Branch & Member of the Executive Committee, Societe Generale Private Banking

Tobias Wagner heads up the Zurich Branch and is a member of the Executive Committee for Société Générale Private Banking Switzerland. He spent 10 years at Credit Suisse in various senior management positions overseeing Northern Europe, North & West Latin America and the European business in Singapore. He joined Credit Suisse as Head of PB Strategy Development and worked as Relationship Manager Germany offshore. Before joining Credit Suisse he spent 6 years with management consulting firm Oliver Wyman. Tobias Wagner holds a Masters Degree in International Business Studies from the University of Maastricht and management education from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.

 

Tobias Unger, Regional Manager Switzerland & Liechtenstein and Member of the Group Executive Board, Avaloq

Tobias joined Avaloq in 2016 as CEO of Avaloq’s Swiss service centre. However, he had already been a member of the Avaloq Community for many years – namely as a COO at Falcon Private Bank, an Avaloq customer. In other words, the full-blooded banker has become a banking technology professional. Tobias has a passion for leading and developing people. He is a father of two children, an avid golfer and he has a keen interest in how technology impacts markets and industries as well as humanity overall. Before joining Falcon Private Bank he worked as an investment banker both at UBS and Merrill Lynch. He holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Bern.

 

Zabeen Moser-Mawji, Partner, Orbium

Zabeen heads Orbium’s Management Consulting practice with responsibility for business development and key client management across the region. She has successfully managed the delivery of several strategic business transformation programs delivering value for clients across the wealth management industry.  A strong advocate for sharing of best practices across the industry Zabeen has been active in sharing the results from Orbium’s C-Level Wealth Management Survey.  Zabeen began her career in Asia and has over 25 years of experience in delivering business led change programmes for financial institutions. Prior to Orbium, she worked with several top-tier banks and management consultancies on assignments covering business transformation, operational strategy, and business operating model change. Joseph Oumarou, Assistant Vice President, Banque Cantonale de Genève; Professor of Finance

Joseph is a holder of a Master of Advanced Studies in Banking and Finance and a Diploma of advanced Studies in Wealth and Asset Management obtained from Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Switzerland. He has an extensive banking career with experience in Private Bank and Global Banks. He currently works at BCGE, a universal retail bank whose main mission is to contributes to the development of Geneva’s economy, providing a complete range of banking services to private, corporate and institutional clients. Prior to joining BCGE, he worked several years at Piguet Galland (Geneva Private Bank, a subsidiary of Banque Cantonale Vaudoise). Earlier in his banking career, Joseph held a position of Financial Controller for Europe Middle East and Africa at JP Morgan (Suisse S.A) based in Geneva office. He worked for Sotheby’s Switzerland and he is a Co-founding member of Planet Foundation, a Global Network of Business Leaders for Sustainable Development. Joseph is also a Professor of Finance at Geneva Institute for Studies in Finance & Banking.

 

Mario Alves, Head of Sales & Partner Management, aixigo

Mario Alves is a proven expert in retail and private banking, with a special focus on investment and advisory in MiFID related markets and products. His expertise combines frontline experiences as advisor and manager within several financial service institutions, as well as in-depth strategic and technological understanding gained as consultant and leader in advisory and software companies. He has a ‘crush’ on needs-oriented sales and believes that digital wealth management will become the new market standard. Building bridges between technology, business and people represents his passion. Mario has been working with aixigo since 2012 and his focus is to accompany customers and partners in utilising digitalisation within the investment business across all channels.

 

Michael Rogenmoser, Chief Market Officer Switzerland & Liechtenstein, Avaloq

Michael Rogenmoser joined Avaloq in August 2014. As Chief Market Officer Switzerland & Liechtenstein, he is a member of the Swiss Management Committee responsible for management of all Avaloq clients in Switzerland and Liechtenstein as well as winning new clients. He has wide experience in the international financial services industry. Before joining Avaloq, he had worked as a management consultant and investment banker for 12 years advising financial institutions on strategic matters as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Amongst others, he held positions at McKinsey & Company, UBS Investment Bank and Millenium Associates. He holds an MBA from the University of Berne, where he majored in corporate finance and information management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and a member of the Swiss CFA Society.

 

José Uribarri Soares, Head of IT Department, Millennium Banque Privée

José Uríbarri Soares joined the Millennium Group in Portugal 32 years ago and, since 2002, has been working at Millennium Banque Privée in Geneva. During his career, and as part of the initial team of the Bank in Geneva, Jose Uríbarri Soares has acquired multiple experiences from working in the Securities Department in Lisbon, up to his current position as Head of IT at the Bank. His monitoring of the bank’s and the private banking industry’s IT evolution over the past years has given him extensive business knowledge in his area . Over the past two decades he has focused his career on integrating tailor made core systems, and back to front solutions for Millennium Banque Privée.

 

Ian Woodhouse, Head of Strategy and Change, Orbium

With over 25 years of experience, Ian is an experienced advisor to private banking and wealth management executives needing to advance their business and technology priorities.

He serves a diverse client base, where his project track record, deep industry knowledge and network enables him to provide pragmatic assistance from ideas through assessment, design and operational change. His involvement helps clients to improve performance, grow and keep their businesses safe and in the forefront of responding to complex industry challenges and opportunities in a focused, balanced and aligned way. Ian is a sought-after speaker at industry keynote events. Silvan Schumacher, Co-Founder & CEO, Swanest

Silvan is a co-founder and the CEO of Swanest, a company specialised in automated investment technology to empower private and institutional clients, including financial media, asset managers and private banks. Previous to building-up the startup, he worked for Ernst & Young in Zurich, Hay Group in Jakarta and the United Nations in Beirut. Silvan holds a double master degree, one in CEMS International Management and one in International Affairs and Governance, both obtained from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

 

Oliver Williams, Editor, Private Banker International 

Oliver Williams was appointed editor of Private Banker International in September 2018. Prior to this, he started and ran the wealth consultancy WealthInsight, advising private banks and other organisations on high net worth individuals. No stranger to PBI, Oliver has written for the magazine for the past 4 years and is a regular speaker at events worldwide. Specialising on the elusive lives of the wealthy, Oliver is regularly interviewed on TV and radio and writes for the New Statesman, Forbes, Billionaire among others.

 

Jacqui Cheshire, Partner – Head of Family Office, Switzerland, Stonehage Fleming Group

Jacqui is Head of our Family Office Division in Switzerland. She is also Head of Stonehage Fleming Law Limited. Jacqui serves as a Key Adviser to a number of high net worth international families. Jacqui joined the Stonehage Fleming Group in 2000 and was based in our London office before moving to the Geneva office in 2009. Prior to joining the Group she worked for Deloitte & Touche in South Africa in their tax department. Jacqui has a Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town and a higher diploma in Tax Law from the University of the Witwatersrand.

 

Mahesh Bulchandani, CEO and Director, FinIQ Europe

Mahesh Bulchandani is the CEO and Director of FinIQ Europe.  Prior to this, Mahesh spent 5 years in technology and 15+ years in Banking, in various roles at Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan. In his last role at JPMorgan he was Managing Director, head of sales and structuring for Asia. Mahesh has an Engineering degree and an MBA.

 

 

Dominic Snell, Director of Consulting, Wealth Dynamix

Dominic joined Wealth Dynamix in 2014 in the role of a Senior Consultant leading the implementation of the Wealth Dynamix solution for Wealth Managers in the UK – he is now the company’s Director of Consulting, and a member of the Product Board. His team of consultants help firms in the industry to be successful in the adoption of the WDX ONE solution- a digital Client Lifecycle Management and Onboarding solution. With 14 years’ experience across various companies and sectors, Dominic has always been involved in the delivery of strategic technology projects, including CRM with clients including Barclays Wealth, RBS and Apple. During this time he has developed a strong working knowledge of the best practices and the pitfalls of embarking on such projects.

 

Patrick Odoni, Director Sales & Marketing Switzerland, Capital Banking Solutions

Patrick is responsible for all business development activities of CBS in Switzerland, focusing mainly on the needs of the wealth management area. He has 20 years of experience in the financial software industry and is based in the Geneva office.

Prior to joining CBS Patrick held various consulting and business development roles for major providers of software solutions to the financial institutions, including Sungard (now FIS), Asset Control, and Markit (now IHS). He also co-founded and managed a start-up providing risk & performance calculation services to the banking and asset management industry, which was acquired by Swisscom Banking Solutions. Patrick graduated from University of St.Gallen (HSG).

 

Christophe Brisson, Director Operations Europe, Capital Banking Solutions

As Head of Consulting Europe, Christophe is in charge of delivery in Europe and globally for CBS wealth management product line. He is also the General Manager of the Monaco Office. He has over 25 years of experience in the software industry.

Christophe joined Capital Banking Solutions Monaco (formerly named Tekline) as Managing Director Europe in 2005 to develop its Banking Front-Office solutions. He previously worked with the founders of Cartesis, as Head of Consulting, Head of French Operations and Head of European and Japan Operations. Christophe graduated from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) and holds a Law Degree from Paris II Assas.

 

Gabriel Spirig, Head of Distribution & Business Development, Lombard International Assurance

Gabriel Spirig joined Lombard International Assurance in December 2016 as Head of Distribution and Business Development for Switzerland and Northern Europe. Gabriel is responsible for business development in the following core markets: Germany, Finland, Sweden and Norway; and the ongoing success in Switzerland With 15 years’ experience in private wealth and cross border insurance, Gabriel joined Lombard International Assurance from Credit Suisse, where he was Global Head of 3rd party life insurance solutions. In this role, he was responsible for the Insurance Brokerage Business and the bank’s global offering of 3rd party life insurance solutions to HNWI and UHNWI client including Private Placement and Universal Life solutions. ELIGIBLE INSTITUTIONS FOR THE PRIVATE BANKING & WEALTH MANAGEMENT: SWITZERLAND 2018 CONFERENCE AND AWARDS INCLUDE:

Following on from the success of 2017’s event, Private banking & Wealth Management: Switzerland will again be holding its Awards in 2018 to celebrate the very best in the industry.

This year companies can nominate in 14 categories full details of which can be found in the tab above or in the downloadable Awards Information Pack below.

Please send all your submissions to PBSawards@compelo.com by deadline 5pm GMT on Friday 12th October.

Submission rules

Nominees should follow these simple guidelines to ensure that their submission has the best chance of winning:

  1. Submissions can be made either on behalf of your own company or in recognition of a colleague or partner firm.
  2. Maximum of 1,000 words in Word format, no appendices.
  3. Entry must address the award category explicitly, not generic links to web sites, corporate marketing etc.
  4. Submissions should highlight the key differentiator and competitive nature of the project or implementation
  5. It is made explicit the Entrant, Judges and the publication will treat any and all information in strict confidence and any quotes or information to go into the public domain will be pre-cleared by the Entrant.
  6. Submissions made after the publicised cut-off date will be ignored irrespective of their relative merits.
  7. The Editor and Judges reserve the right to make no award for any specific category
  8. The Editor and Judges reserve the right to move a submission to a more appropriate category at their discretion
  9. In submitting for more than one category the submissions must be unique (see 3)
  10. The Editor and Judges’ decision is final

Please note: Whilst we recommend you to try to submit against as many of the criteria as possible, we appreciate that for some companies this may not be possible. The more you can respond against the stronger your application will be, but we would like to highlight that submitting against all criteria is not mandatory.

Outstanding Customer Relationship Service and Engagement in Switzerland

Celebrating a private bank with an outstanding performance record in servicing wealthy clients, customer engagement and relationship management, the use of new technologies, social media and applications
Suggested performance criteria to include (where possible):

  • Number of private clients
  • Percentage of new clients in past 12 months
  • Number of advisors/relationship managers/private bankers
  • Please expand on the initiatives your institution has taken to enable successful customer relationship service and engagement, and why you deserve this award
  • Please describe the competitive environment for this proposition, referring to similar peer initiatives, and describe why this offering stands out
  • How do you plan to develop the service capability in the future?

Excellence in Customer Experience (Technology Provider)

This award recognises software and technology solution providers that enable private banks, family offices and wealth managers to offer a first-class customer experience to their clients.

The provider should be able to demonstrate how their technology / software solution has improved the client’s private banking / wealth management experience. An example could be speeding up the process for the client.

The judges will particularly be looking for evidence that the software or technology innovation has improved the customer experience, for example, by increasing customer satisfaction scores.

Best Next Generation Offering in Switzerland

Celebrating an institution that is extending its product proposition effectively and successfully to engage the next generation of wealthy clients Suggested performance to include (where possible):

  • Number of private clients
  • Percentage of new clients in past 12 months
  • Please describe the service offering you are entering and why? 
  • Please describe the competitive environment for this proposition, referring to similar peer initiatives, and describe why this offering stands out

Most Innovative Private Bank / Wealth Manager of the Year

Open to any private bank / wealth manager that can demonstrate success in making a noteworthy contribution to the Swiss private banking and wealth management market.

  • A provider that has helped advance private banking / wealth management using the latest technologies at the client interface level
  • The private bank / wealth manager will need to clearly prove how its products and services are benefiting its clients – and improving its internal processes.
  • Evidence must show the strategic objective(s). For example, the success to date in meeting the objectives; the results/outcomes

The Diversity Award

This award celebrates a private bank or wealth manager that has embraced diversity within its operations. Diversity refers to gender equality initiatives and / or efforts to boost ethnic diversity and engagement. It could also be viewed in the context of encouraging more young people into the private banking – wealth management sector
The judges will be looking for a project / initiative that has:

  • Clear and measurable objectives
  • Can demonstrate how they have embraced the principles of diversity within their operations
  • The initiative should demonstrate a coherent and integrated approach
  • Evidence that the initiative is improving business performance and customer service and engagement
