Advisory Research, a subsidiary of Piper Jaffray Companies, has acquired the investment team of Cupps Capital Management, a Chicago-based asset management firm.
The integration will add the Cupps team’s growth stock investing expertise to Advisory Research’s multi-manager platform that will offer distribution and product support services.
The Cupps team is anticipated to complete the migration to Advisory Research in the fourth quarter of 2016. Existing investment teams and strategies of Advisory Research will be unchanged by the move.
Advisory Research CEO Chris Crawshaw said: “As a fellow Chicago-based asset manager, we have known Cupps for many years and always admired their commitment to excellence, the integrity of their investment process and their dedication to their clients.
“We are excited to welcome them to the Advisory Research family and further expand Piper Jaffray’s commitment to the investment management business.”
Cupps CIO and founder Drew Cupps added: “Advisory Research’s broader distribution capabilities, strong business team and comprehensive resources position us for many years of success, and most importantly, offer our team unprecedented levels of focus on research and executing our investment process.
“Bringing these advantages to our clients is why we are so enthusiastic to join Advisory Research.”
