French investment manager Amundi has launched a new platform that will combine its capabilities in real and alternative assets.
The platform will combine its real estate, infrastructure, private debt, private equity and alternative multi-management, the Paris-based firm said in a statement.
It will allow institutional and individual investors to invest directly in real assets or through co-investment and multi-management funds.
Amundi global head of real and alternative assets Pedro Antonio Arias said: “We have been meticulously building our capabilities over recent years by attracting skilled teams from diverse backgrounds.
“Our aim is to further develop our capabilities based on the €34bn we already manage in this area, and to be a leading European player in real and alternative assets.”
The new move will bring together 200 investment professionals in origination, structuring and management, overseeing €34bn in assets. Amundi seeks to double this figure by 2020.
Amundi head of real & alternative assets sales Eric Wohleber added: “Amundi’s power, infrastructure and financial strength are all major advantages allowing us to give European and Asian investors transparent, institutional-quality investment solutions in real and alternative assets.”
