Edinburgh-based investment manager Kames Capital is all set to enter into the US market after registering with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Kames will initially make its Global Equity Income and Global Sustainable Equity strategies available to the US investors.
The firm also intends to eventually roll out other strategies which have strong demand from US investors.
Aegon USA Investment Management (AUIM), an affiliate of Kames, will offer sales and marketing services in the new market.
Commenting on the expansion, Kames Capital CEO Martin Davis said: “Our entry into the US market is another significant milestone in the development of Kames Capital as we look to broaden and deepen the distribution of some of our best products and strategies across new markets.
“The agreement for our sister affiliated company AUIM to distribute our strategies in the US is also a positive step as Kames and AAM look to bring their successful capabilities to our customers wherever they are located.”
Kames’ foray into the US market follows some recently announced expansions, both into Europe (with presence in 16 countries) and into Latin America, including the partnership recently signed with HMC Capital to enter Chile.
