Swedish lender Handelsbanken has completed the acquisition of Dutch wealth management firm Optimix Vermogensbeheer.
The acquisition, announced in April 2016, was wrapped up after securing the nod of the Dutch financial supervisory authorities.
At the time of the deal’s announcement, Handelsbanken Netherlands head Mikael Sorensen said: "This purchase makes it possible for us to broaden our offering to these customers. It is also a vital step in our evolution towards becoming a full-service bank in the Netherlands.”
Handelsbanken will acquire all shares in Optimix as part of the deal, making Optimix its wholly owned subsidiary.
The transaction is expected to have a marginal impact on the banking group’s key figures.
Optimix has operations in Amsterdam, Groningen and Vught, and employs a workforce of 35. The company currently oversees nearly EUR2bn of assets for high-net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, foundations and charities.
