Harper Macleod, a Scotland-based law firm, has entered into an agreement to merge with Glasgow-based private client boutique Bird Semple to create a new firm with a combined turnover of more than £23 million.
The deal, which will formalize on 1 September, will see Bird Semple’s 35 partners, lawyers and staff will moving to Harper Macleod’s Glasgow headquarters.
The new combined private client team of six partners will provide a range of legal services for individuals, including asset and wealth management, family law, employment, residential conveyancing, personal injury and medical negligence, charitable giving, civil litigation and agriculture & estates.
The agreement will add £2.1 milion to Harper Macleod’s £21 million turnover and bring its partner headcount to 56.
The deal follows major refurbishment plan at its Harper Macleod’s headquarters in The Ca’d’oro building on Gordon Street, increasing its office space by almost 15%.
The new combined private client team of six partners will work closely with our other teams to provide a comprehensive range of legal services for individuals, including Asset and Wealth Management, Family Law, Employment, Residential Conveyancing, Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, Charitable Giving, Civil Litigation and Agriculture & Estates.
Bird Semple offers asset and wealth management advice to private clients in the business and professional communities. It also offers services including wills, trusts and succession, asset protection, personal taxation, wealth management, agecare, and land and property.
