Malaysia’s Montpelier Wealth Management, which has more than £80 million of assets under management, has appointed Hume Capital Securities, formerly known as XCap Securities, as exclusive discretionary portfolio manager.
The relationship will be handled from Hume’s Wilmslow office, with private client director James Igoe heading-up the company’s dedicated Montpelier Wealth Management team, manchestereveningnews.co.uk has reported.
James played a key role in securing the deal, leading negotiations with Montpelier in Kuala Lumpur over the past month, according to the publication.
"This is an exciting development and will pave the way for further activity in the Far East. Montpelier was incorporated in Malaysia in 1993 and has grown in experience and size to more than 50 specialist staff, including some of the most experienced portfolio managers in Malaysia," James was quoted as saying by the publication.
