Postera Capital, which specialises in crypto-specific investment products, has snapped up sentiment analytics start-up Augmento.
Financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.
AI-driven Augmento leverages algorithms to detect emotions and discussion topics from online news and social media, enabling investors to gain more insight into market movements.
Under the agreement, Augmento’s software will be integrated into Postera’s proprietary technology stack.
Leveraging Augmento’s forecasting capabilities, Postera intends to further develop its quantitative investment strategies.
The deal addresses the rising demand for crypto assets by institutional investors.
Commenting on the acquisition, Postera partner Nicolas Biagosch said: “Augmento has developed a unique AI solution that provides quantitative data about what is happening in the collective consciousness of the crypto market.
“Augmento will help us develop our strategies using real-time market sentiments even further.”
The deal is said to enhance Postera’s position in crypto consulting and its EU-regulated crypto fund Postera Fund – Crypto I.
As part of the deal, Augmento’s founding team members including Michael Baumgartner, Bijan Farsijani and Oliver Spragg will move to Postera and assume advisory positions.
Augmento CEO and co-founder Michael Baumgartner said: “Being able to quantify emotions such as fear or euphoria in real-time helps investors build better strategies and reduce risk.”
