Digital Identity Authentication Platforms
iProov is a fast-growing UK cybersecurity business based in London, UK.
We aim to develop solutions to help companies verify the digital identity of remote users.
Digital identification verification technologies
Technology-enabled attacks on digital identity has become commonplace through the use of replayed past authentication claims, compromised devices and more recently, the emerging threat of synthetic video, sometimes called ‘Deep Fake’.
With global financial institutions becoming increasingly reliant on remote face verification to link users to government-issued identity documents, the problem of digital identity theft represents a systemic threat to banks and governments.
iProov is a simple and highly secure method to solve this problem. We focus on delivering trusted security and a high-quality user experience. Our global reputation is backed by our unique approach to bypass prevention, supported by a number of granted patents; our world-class deep learning technologies; and our emphasis on sustainable security.
We use a process of controlled illumination of the user’s device screen, which allows us to detect and prevent all known attack vectors, including masks, replay attacks, compromised devices, and – critically – the emerging threat of Deep Fake artificial video.
Single-step authentication processes
From iProov’s inception, we have been closely advised by Dr Angela Sasse, the professor of human-centred security at University College London and the world’s leading academic on usable security. With her support, iProov has developed a deeply intuitive, single-step process for authentication.
iProov is unique in providing liveness and presence detection that makes no demands on the user. This greatly increases the likelihood of a successful outcome and user journey completion. This is a critically important feature for organisations providing high-value customer journeys such as digital account opening.
Entities in the financial, government and enterprise industries have implemented iProov systems for online login and step-up authentication, as well as remote identity verification based on certified identity documents.
We collaborate with a number of major global banks, including ING and Rabobank, and have received numerous awards in recognition of our solution’s unique security and usability.
iProov has been recognised by KPMG, Sony, Citi Singapore, the UK National Cyber Security Centre and the Finnovate Conference 2018.
iProov is led by a team combining senior experience in growing global, high-performance mobile and Cloud-based services, with world-class academic research expertise from University College London.
The business has won a number of grants from InnovateUK, the UK Government’s innovation agency, and raised substantial financing through Series A rounds.
