About

The 35th Retail Banking International Conference and Awards will delve into the key topics for the future of the banking landscape within the UK. The retail banking sector is at a critical point with regulations opening up the field and increasing competition.

Looking at where the innovation will stem from across the industry, through new partnerships, payment solutions or digital tools we will address the challenges within the future of retail banking. The content covered will ensure you can create robust strategies to tackle the full spectrum of associated challenges.

Some key agenda highlights from 2019:

The Innovation of the century? Unlocking potential of Open Banking

  • We brought together representation from traditional banks including Santander, HSBC and CYBG, who deciphered how open banking will open up new opportunities for banks to unlock new avenues to offer customer centric products

Harnessing AI and robotics to create innovative customer centric solutions

  • NatWest are at the forefront of harnessing AI and robotics to have real world applications to help and protect your customers. They spoke about how this is already being incorporated to utilize this step forward in technology

Moving from old legacy systems to new systems, simultaneously in the cloud and organizationally, to harness modern technology

  • Building a strategy to move from a traditional bank into an agile digitally forward bank comes with numerous challenges, however we had the Head of Product, Payments and Group Transformation from Lloyds Banking Group and the Chief Information Officer from Santander who offered their insight into this key challenge

‘Bricks & Clicks’: Integrating physical presence with an online presence to retain and recruit new customers

  • With most banks moving away from physical presence with online solutions taking a key role, we had the Head of Retail Accounts & Partnerships from Metro Bank delve into why they are opening branches throughout the UK to help drive retention and recruit new customers into their bank
