Metro Bank, the latest bank to be granted a licence in the UK, is to open a drive-through branch in May 2013.
Launching in Slough, the drive-through service will offer withdrawals and deposits via an ATM and a customer counter that will be staffed during the bank’s opening hours.
Metro Bank, who claim to be customer service orientated, say that the new drive-through bank will "bring a whole new level of convenience to customers."
Craig Donaldson, CEO, Metro Bank, said of the new branch: "We’re very excited to bring our first-ever drive-through to Slough," he said. "Our job is to make banking easy for everyone and we’re confident that with the drive-through lanes, combined with the great in-store customer-focused services that we offer, we will achieve it."
Both Barclays and HSBC have previously trialled drive through services but neither made it off the ground.
Metro Bank’s latest branch, which opened in Guildford, launched in April 2013. The newest addition to the bank’s branch expansion, the Guildford branch becomes the bank’s 17th store.
Metro Bank plan to open 200 stores by 2020.
