Standard Chartered Bank India has revamped its website design to allow browsing on mobile and online channels without the need for multiple versions.
According to Standard Chartered, the website will be more "intuitive and user-friendly" to help customers find products and services more easily and will also include news and social media content.
Standard Chartered is to redesign its other websites across China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and the UAE, to be rolled out in 2013.
Aman Narain, group head of internet and mobile banking, said: "With the smartphone and tablet revolution resulting in the explosion of mobile browsing, Standard Chartered has launched a website which works just as beautifully on computers, tablets and smartphones."
Sanjeeb Chaudhuri, regional head of consumer banking South East Asia, said: "Standard chartered selected India as the first market for the global launch of out consumer banking websites in recognition of the country’s growing tech-savvy, socially networked population.
"In addition to its more intuitive and user-friendly interface, the new website also includes integration to key social media sites to facilitate better information sharing."
