Yes. Those wishing to purchase a gun must obtain a Certificate Of Eligibility for Pistol and Revolvers, Long Guns, or Ammunition (depending on which they’re buying.) This includes a safety course, a criminal background check, and a check of mental health records. These certificates are valid for five years.
