Capgemini and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership to deliver secure sovereign cloud solutions, enhancing the adoption of AI at scale.

The collaboration aims to integrate Google Cloud’s AI technologies, including Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise, into Capgemini’s offerings. This integration seeks to modernise critical operations for clients while ensuring data protection and compliance with security regulations.

The enhanced partnership between Capgemini and Google Cloud provides organisations with access to Gemini-based hyper-automated cloud operations. These solutions are designed to boost cybersecurity, resilience, disaster recovery, and compliance aligned with sovereignty requirements.

According to Capgemini, clients have the flexibility to select their preferred sovereignty model from Google Cloud options, such as Google Cloud Dedicated and Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped.

To support this initiative, Capgemini plans to establish a Google Sovereign Cloud Delivery Practice and Centre of Excellence (CoE). This will offer advisory services to meet specific sovereign needs for joint clients, ensuring modernisation of core applications and infrastructure like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environments while complying with data residency mandates.

Capgemini’s capabilities in this area are bolstered by its acquisition of Syniti in late 2024 and Cloud4C in late 2025.

Syniti has expertise in large-scale SAP data transformation and is said to specialise in complex data quality, migration, and governance initiatives.

Meanwhile, Cloud4C provides automation-driven managed services for hybrid and sovereign cloud environments, assisting enterprises in technology optimisation using its low-code platform and industry-specific frameworks.

With its GDC partner status and authorisation as a GDC air-gapped operator, Capgemini expects to deliver a fully managed service model. This model is tailored for organisations needing complete isolation from the public internet to comply with sovereignty and regulatory demands across European markets.

The partnership facilitates secure logistics planning, threat analysis, and operational decision support within a secure enclave.

Capgemini chief strategy and development officer and group executive board member Fernando Alvarez said: “While the potential of AI in modernising critical operations is clear, there are constraints due to stringent regulatory mandates on data and compliance.

“With our deep industry expertise combined with our proven track record in implementing AI-first solutions that deliver real business transformation, Capgemini is well positioned to address these challenges.

“Becoming a Google Cloud air-gapped operator enables us to further provide trusted and secure end-to-end sovereign solutions that enable resilience, help maintain autonomy and security, and foster innovation at scale.”

In April 2025, Capgemini launched an agentic AI initiative with Google Cloud aimed at transforming customer experience (CX). This initiative aims to create industry-specific solutions for handling customer requests across multiple communication channels, thereby enhancing employee productivity.

Supported by Google Cloud’s AI technology, these bespoke solutions are intended to improve customer services through intelligent automation and deep insights. Although initially focused on telecommunications, retail, and financial services sectors, the partnership intends to expand its reach to industries such as life sciences and utilities to accelerate business outcomes.
