A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11888172B2) discloses a unique battery pack design comprising a plurality of battery cells arranged obliquely in a row, supported by first and second holder plates with cooling channels passing through the first steps in a perpendicular direction. Each battery cell includes specific features such as terminal surfaces, main surfaces, and side surfaces, with the first holder plate supporting the bottom surface and the first main surface of the cells. The cooling channels are connected in parallel, with inlets and outlets fluidly connected to each other, and a cooling medium supply pipe distributing cooling medium to each channel.

Furthermore, the battery pack includes vent holes for relieving inner pressure, with the second holder plate having vent holes in the second steps corresponding to the vents of the battery cells. An exhaust channel is connected to an accommodation space for exhaust gas discharge, with a partition wall separating the accommodation spaces. The first and second holder plates are fastened together with a fastener aligned with the vertically protruding edges of the battery cells, allowing for the arrangement of multiple rows of battery cells with step portions and fastening portions between them. Each step portion includes repeatedly arranged first and second steps, enhancing the structural integrity and cooling efficiency of the battery pack.
