The agreement, which remains subject to final terms, would bring AISLE’s autonomous security technology and expertise into Cohere’s operations, with the aim of advancing cyber-resilient sovereign AI solutions.
Founded in 2024, AISLE develops autonomous systems using advanced AI models to discover, validate, and assist in remediating unknown vulnerabilities in complex production software.
The company reports that, within its first year of operation, it detected over 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities assigned CVEs, spanning over 100 codebases.
This includes all 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL’s January security release along with 18 of the 24 CVEs announced in curl’s recent update.
These findings, according to AISLE, have been independently reviewed by software maintainers.
Cohere stated that acquiring AISLE aligns with its objective to develop a comprehensive sovereign AI platform combining AI models, agentic applications, secure deployment infrastructure, and advanced security features.
The company noted the increasing importance of security as organisations integrate AI into critical systems, with growing concerns over data protection, regulatory compliance, and software vulnerabilities.
Following the proposed acquisition, AISLE’s founding team will join Cohere and take up leadership positions within the newly established Cohere Cyber unit.
Ondrej Vlcek will serve as senior vice president, Cohere Cyber, Jaya Baloo as chief information security officer, and Stanislav Fort as vice president, AI Security.
Cohere also said it plans to expand its presence in Prague, designating the city as a global hub for AI cybersecurity and autonomous security research.
The transaction follows Cohere’s previous acquisitions of Aleph Alpha and Reliant AI and is expected to deepen its involvement in the European AI and cybersecurity sector.
The company indicated that AISLE’s technology could enhance its ability to deliver security and threat detection capabilities for enterprise and public sector deployments, as well as support secure AI deployment across various environments.
According to Cohere, increased collaboration between foundational AI models and specialised security systems would allow the company to develop more capable cybersecurity tools while addressing complex, verifiable security challenges.
The deal is positioned as part of Cohere’s wider strategy to provide technology partners that can meet Europe’s requirements for advanced AI, data privacy, and compliance.
