Anthropic in talks on $6bn Decart AI deal ahead of public listing

Anthropic is in talks over a potential acquisition of Nvidia-backed startup Decart AI, Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with the negotiations.

The deal, if executed, could value Decart AI at approximately $6bn.

The talks come as Anthropic prepares for a public listing and seeks ways to manage increasing demand for its products.

Some sources cautioned that the transaction has not yet been finalised, and the ongoing talks may not result in a deal.

Decart AI, which is headquartered in California, specialises in creating world models, which are simulations designed to mirror the physical world.

In addition, the company develops software aimed at reducing the costs of training AI systems by enhancing the efficiency of hardware.

If the deal goes through, these technologies could aid Anthropic in scaling its infrastructure to meet higher user demand.

An undisclosed source also reported that Decart AI’s team would become part of Anthropic’s inference and performance unit.

Anthropic, known for developing the Claude AI system, has reportedly not made acquisitions on this scale in the past and has been investing significantly in computing resources to support product development and customer needs.

Decart AI’s technologies are intended for a wide range of commercial applications. Its Lucy AI model can process live video of individuals to generate real-time, high-resolution representations.

In May, Decart AI disclosed it had raised $300m in a funding round led by Radical Ventures and its co-founder Jordan Jacobs.

The round included participation from Nvidia, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Sequoia Capital, Adobe Ventures, Benchmark, and Zeev Ventures.

According to the Wall Street Journal, this funding round valued Decart AI at close to $4bn, up from $3.1bn in August 2025.

The company was founded in 2023 by Dean and Orian Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev, all engineers originally from Israel.
