Cognizant has broadened its alliance with Google Cloud through the creation of a Gemini Frontier Capability Group aimed at scaling agentic AI across enterprise environments.
Supported by more than 18,000 dedicated Cognizant associates, the new unit represents a major joint investment by both companies. It combines Google Cloud’s end-to-end AI platform with Cognizant’s industry knowledge and engineering capabilities.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
Cognizant serves as an AI Builder partner within the arrangement.
The group extends work begun under a dedicated Gemini practice that Cognizant launched in April 2026 and is designed to help organisations move AI agent initiatives from pilot stage into full production.
Initial engineering efforts will target four areas, which include legacy modernisation, developer experience, autonomous business process agentification and frontier cyber defence. The group intends to use agentic architecture grounded in the Model Context Protocol and strengthened by Google Cloud’s Model Armor, following a security-first approach.
Solutions expected from the collaboration include Cognizant’s Catalog Support Agent for the retail sector, a Neuro San-orchestrated Healthcare Agentic Marketplace and multi-agent Order-to-Cash workflows designed for manufacturing.
Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S said: “Establishing our dedicated Gemini Frontier Capability Group lets our best frontier engineering talent focus entirely on getting frontier AI into production for clients.
“Our Build with Gemini workshop gave over 55,000 associates that experience directly, earning them tangible skills on one of the world’s most advanced AI platforms, and this new group is where that experience goes to work every day.”
That workshop, completed by over 55,000 Cognizant associates, stands as the largest single Gemini partner workshop held to date. It forms part of a wider certification drive that underpins the new group’s workforce strategy.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said: “Deploying AI agents at scale requires trusted partners with deep architectural and integration expertise.
“Cognizant’s dedicated Frontier Capability Group and their skilling initiative for tens of thousands of engineers on Gemini will help our joint customers accelerate the adoption of autonomous agents throughout the enterprise.”
Beyond the new group, Cognizant is embedding Gemini across its own workforce. As announced in July, the company is deploying the platform to 100,000 associates this year, with plans to extend access to 200,000, while continuing to expand its professional certification programme on Gemini.
Also in July, Cognizant established a dedicated EMEA AI Unit to drive agentic AI adoption among enterprises across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The organisational unit draws together advisory, engineering and delivery capabilities to support clients in implementing and running AI solutions within their business operations.
Its mandate prioritises measurable business outcomes while maintaining independence from any single platform, model or cloud provider.
